ISSA - International Shipsuppliers & Services Association

SERVAUX used to work with all customers references, including ISSA codes The 2020 ISSA Ship Stores Catalogue is essential reading for all those wishing to purchase ship stores internationally. An easy-to-use coding system means purchasers can see what thy are ordering and by quoting the accompanying ISSA Code to their chandler can ensure they are ordering the correct item among the thousands featured. The 2020 edition has been revised and updated and the design enhanced to make reading clearer and it is also available in digital format. The latest version of the ISSA Ship Stores Catalogue and the new look ISSA Provisions Catalogue are now available to purchase. A lot of effort has gone into producing these two publications and ISSA has certainly carved itself a niche as far as publication of the Provisions Catalogue is concerned. With the help of the Secretariat, we have been marketing both catalogues to the ISSA membership so please contact your National Association or the secretariat directly (again by emailing secretariat@shipsupply.org if you would like to buy a copy. Both catalogues will soon be available in digital form and we will be notifying all members about how they can access the catalogues this way. Tapping into the digital versions will mean companies can undertake their own searches and retrieve the information they require. More detailsnavigate_next
Dräger Fireman's Suit

Dräger Fireman's Suit

Dräger Nomex Fireman's Suit Dräger would like to present its new line of firefighting clothes designed to the highest standards with one thing in mind: the firefighter. The new suit is the result of a close study of technical key features and usability of suits that are currently available in the market: the suit has been improved on eight key features as compared to the most readily available suits. Providing a safe barrier "between human will and fire's forces". Specifications Radiation heat barrier A Kermel fleece that provides excellent thermal protection, these very thin layers found inside the layer concept, minimise the amount of water that can replace the critical insulation air space in the garment. Membrane A Hi-Tech polyurethane membrane coated on the outer radiation heat barrier. Ensures exceptional breathable characteristics and unmatched durability. Up to a temperature of 380°C, this membrane gives a good protection against heat and chemicals and will not melt. Liner A combination of Nomex and Viscose. The Nomex thread of this special weave method with the 2,5% Kevlar makes the liner strong. The fire retardant Viscose thread provides comfort and transports moisture to the outside of the liner. The multi-layer configuration ensures that each layer accomplishes its part of the job. Air layers and thermal barriers The protective value of the "ESS® 5 layer system" in combination with the fabric composite is found in the air between the fire fighter and the heat source. Air itself is the greatest single source of insulation qualities in protective clothing. Sandwiching stitching inside the facing cloth is therefore never used. All the layers are not stitched to each other; this improves the thermal insulation value (TPP) by protecting the moisture barrier and creating multiple air spaces between the very thin layers. Comfort The used layer system creates a lightweight, durable and highly comfortable garment without compromises to the suits protective features. Quick Release Breakaway Zippers Specially designed for military, firefighter and chemical suits. Ideal for situations where it's desirable to tear the zipper open without having to move the zipper all the way back. Anti Aqua High-Tech coated polyester fabric in sleeves, trouser legs, storm flap, back piece and pocket flaps. Prevents water and chemicals to easily enter the lining of the suit. Eyelets To quickly drain fluids from the suits pockets. External padding The suit features external protective pads on the knees and the elbows. Most other suits have their padding installed on the inside of the pants and do not use padding for elbows. Using padding for both elbows and knees increases user comfort. In addition using padding on the outside helps to protect the suit from damages on its most fragile parts. Rounded pocket flaps By using rounded pocket flaps the chances of being caught behind protruding parts when in action are reduced. In addition the rounding of the corners reduces wear and tear on the fabric in everyday use. More detailsnavigate_next

FIXED FIRE SUPPRESSION - TYCO NOVEC 1230

FIXED FIRE SUPPRESSION - TYCO NOVEC 1230

SAPPHIRE SYSTEMS Using water as a fire suppressant in areas where electronics operate and irreplaceable, high-value assets are stored, could be as devastating as fire itself. The SAPPHIRE Clean Agent System quickly suppresses fires and protects sensitive equipment without causing harm to people or the environment. The system is especially suited to suppress fires in areas where an electrically non-conductive medium is required, where electronic systems cannot be shut down in an emergency, where cleanup of other agents poses a problem, and in normally occupied areas that demand a non-toxic agent. The SAPPHIRE system uses 3M Novec 1230 fire protection fluid for total flooding applications. The clear, colorless agent has zero ozone depletion potential, an atmospheric lifetime of just five days, and a global warming potential of 1.0. The SAPPHIRE system suppresses a fire before it can be fully engaged and once the fire is suppressed, Novec 1230 quickly evaporates without harming any valuable assets. The fluid can be used in total flooding fire suppression applications such as: Data processing centersTape storage vaultsOccupied or unoccupied electronic areas with very sensitive or irreplaceable equipmentTelecommunications including cellular sites and switching centersMilitary systems including combat vehicles and marine engine roomsTransportation including merchant marine vessels and mass transit vehiclesRecreation including pleasure craft and race cars More detailsnavigate_next

IMPA Marine Store guide

IMPA Marine Store guide

Our Values as IMPA Members Competence - We continuously develop our competencies, sharing knowledge and experience. Respect - We act with respect towards the ideas of others and listen to opinions. We respect the need for balance and provide room for diversity. Entrepreneurship - We are innovative and creative. We face challenges by seeing opportunities. We face and solve conflicts together. Accountability - We are reliable, responsible and honest in our actions. We keep our promises. Team spirit - We are all representatives of IMPA. We depend on each other and we lead by example. Enthusiasm - We take pride in what we do, we share our enthusiasm and are dynamic in attitude. The Marine Stores Guide (MSG) first appeared in 1978 as a printed book and is widely considered to be the world’s leading reference source for maritime purchasing and supply. More than 110,000 copies of the guide are in circulation and are used on-board ships as well as in offices throughout the world. Many of the world’s leading purchasers such as ship managers and owners use the book every day as the essential source of marine products. The Guide helps purchasers and suppliers match and supply goods easily by using a unique six digit code to identify products exactly to an individual description. The codes have remained consistent and unchanged in almost 40 years. The Guide has been comprehensively expanded to list more than 50,000 codes from tableware and galley utensils to welding equipment and marine coatings. The ever-growing content has been coupled with advances in technology that have seen many companies migrating their purchasing facilities to ecommerce trading platforms. As such, the Marine Stores Guide Data Licence continues to grow in both reach and application, allowing users to specify products quickly and effectively using unique data imported into their purchasing systems. With illustrations, specifications, product information and comparison tables for major manufacturers, the Marine Stores Guide Seventh edition provides an invaluable reference for those involved in the commercial shipping industry. The Marine Stores Guide Data has recently become more significant in value to ship owners and operators as well as ship suppliers. With the increasing adoption of electronic ship supply management (ecommerce), the Marine Stores Guide has become especially useful for the specification of stores items in electronic trading. If the purchaser includes the IMPA code (already held in his purchasing system) for the required items in his electronic RFQ or Purchase Order, the supplier can read this IMPA code directly into his sales order system, matching it to the appropriate stock item. The use of the IMPA Marine Stores Guide in ecommerce has as advantage over the printed Guide, as the printed version is only updated once every 5 years. In the intervening period, certain items may become obsolete and others may need to be added to the Guide. IMPA has recognised this, and now provides updates to the catalogue on a six-monthly cycle. These updates are only available in electronic form. The latest version of the MSG Data includes more than 50,000 codes. To use the IMPA Marine Stores Guide in electronic form (to import the code data into your purchasing or sales order system), you will need to purchase an IMPA Marine Stores Guide Data Licence.
